Happy Thanksgiving! Dog’s Can Celebrate Thanksgiving Too!
Hi Everyone, it’s Marvin here. I want to share why I’m thankful this year.
You may think that dogs are not thankful. Well, this dog is very thankful for many reasons.
I am thankful for the people who rescued me and washed me until my fur was clean and fluffy.
I am thankful for the pet store owner who took me in and fed me and taught me how to be a responsible puppy.
I am thankful Kathryn and her family who adopted me, love me and keep me safe.
I am thankful for Hibou, my big brother.
I am thankful for when someone takes an afternoon nap. There is nothing like curling up and snuggling for a nap.
I am thankful for dog food and the makers of dog food. Thanks for making it soooo good to eat.
I am thankful for the walks and adventures I go on. I love to discover new friends, places and things.
I am thankful for my fans and followers. It’s fun to share my adventures with you.
I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! Share with your family what you are thankful for. I do, in a doggy kind of way!

Taming the Morning Routine! This is how I established the Morning Routine!
Hi, it’s Marvin. I’ll tell you how my household tamed the morning routine! They brought me into the house! That’s how!
If it weren’t for me, my people would still be in bed! From the first morning I was in the house, I knew that this family needed some intervention on how to deal with the morning chaos. And that’s when I started my little morning routine.
Back to School?? What is Back to School?
Hi it’s Marvin again! Can you explain “Back to School” to me? Being a dog I am not sure what all the excitement is all about. I watch all the running around, taking clothes out of the closet. Some clothes go back into the closet and some clothes are put into bags and taken to the car!
Then new bags are brought back into the house in exchange for the other ones that were taken out! I’m confused, what is the point of all the fuss?
New pencils, crayons, paper and I think it’s called glue, are all brought into the house in bags then sorted and put into back packs?
Food is prepared and put into lunch boxes (and I don’t even get a chance to taste the food before it’s packed!) And then this food isn’t even eaten till the next day!! I mean, WHY?!
Marvin’s Adventurous Road Trip…Part ll
Attack of the Angry Skunk!!!
Hi Everyone; it’s Marvin with an exciting short adventure story to share! Have you ever seen a skunk? Or even smelt one?
Well I am here to say that you do not want to have the experience of smelling one. You see, skunks do not live where I used to live. So when Kathryn and I were camping, I discovered what a skunk looks like, sounds like and smells like!
We were sitting around the campfire late one night. Kathryn and Dad were chatting with some friends, when all of a sudden Dad tells everyone to sit still, not to move and to be very quiet! I looked over towards the camper and out from under it, walks a black and white cat. Or at least my first thought was cat! Up to this point I have never seen a skunk. Of course my first instinct was to chase the cat. No, Kathryn grabbed me and told me that it wasn’t a cat and that I was better off just watching the skunk walk away. I whined and whimpered!
Marvin’s Adventurous Road Trip!
Hi everyone, its Marvin. I am excited to be telling you about my road trip with my family. You know even thou I am a dog I think I can tell what Kathryn is up too.
When she pulls out her suitcase and starts to put clothes into it, I get depressed and worry that she is leaving and I will have to stay while she goes on an adventure without me! I lie on her bed beside her suitcase and give her my “puppy dog eyes” in the hopes that she will take me along on the adventure.
This time she started packing lots of stuff and I mean there were boxes and bags everywhere! But none of it was Hibou’s things or mine. What is Kathryn doing?!
Then she did a horrible thing! She made Hibou and I go into the back yard. From the fence we watched as Kathryn and the family packed the truck. All those boxes and bags and bikes and golf clubs and suitcases all were packed into the truck. Until the truck was full! Where are my things?!
Marvin’s Point of View…Family Vacations
Hey, it’s Marvin again. You know I love going for a ride in my truck. I enjoy riding with the window open as the world goes zooming by: what I really enjoy are all the smells that waft into the truck. My little nose just can’t keep up! Of course Mom makes sure I am strapped into my “doggy” seat belt. I hate wearing it, but it does keep me safe.
We travel to the lake, the farm or to see friends. I never know where we are going until we get there, I like the surprise because it means a new adventure to discover. I like going to the lake, I get to swim and play on the beach. I usually meet other neat dogs and their people and we get together to discover our lakeside territory!
When we go to the farm, I play with all my cousins, four altogether. Three cousins bigger than me so I sometimes have to stand my ground and that can get tiring. I can out run them all and dive under parked cars for safety. The drive home from the farm is short; I sleep all the way and dream about getting away from them all!
Wherever Mom takes me, she packs a couple of my toys, leashes, some snacks and water; oh, I can’t forget my traveling pillow. It’s faux fur and super comfy!
I have lots of great memories of family vacations and the discoveries I made; I think there will be a book out about one of my vacations soon!

Marvin’s Point of View…
Hi, it’s Marvin again. I remember the day Kathryn took me home and I discovered my new family!
It was the best day of my puppy life. My puppy family and I were rescued. When we arrived at the pet store we were covered in mud and unpleasant things. We needed to be bathed several times to work the mud out of our fir. To this day I don’t like taking a bath. But I have to say; I love how I feel when it is over!
My nickname was Rolly Polly. I don’t know how long I lived at the pet store before I met my new family. Kathryn and Allen were looking for a small dog. While they stood looking at me and my puppy family; I sat quietly while the rest of my puppy family were noisy. I was hoping that Kathryn and Allen would see that I was a good puppy.
Kathryn lifted me up to Allen. That’s when I took the chance to kiss him and I did. The kiss sealed the deal! WooHoo! I heard Allen say, “that one!” Kathryn turned to the owner of the pet store and said “yes we will take this puppy home!”
Being a family pet is the most wonderful experience a dog can have! First of all, I get feed regularly. I love playing with my family; my favorite game we play is chase! (I usually win!)
I look after my family by greeting them when they get home. They really like it when I run to the door to jump up to kiss their faces. I am a constant companion; I go with Kathryn wherever she goes, just so she isn’t alone. I help make beds, cut the grass, and pull weeds from the flowerbeds. I also listen when someone needs to tell me something and I won’t tell anyone else what I heard. And when someone is sick or needs a nap, I love to curl up with them to give them comfort while they sleep. Oh ya, I like to help in the kitchen too, because every once in a while I get rewarded with a small treat falling from the counter!
My job as a family pet is alot of work and I love every second of it! I would recommend it to any pet out there!

Hello World…This is Marvin…
Wow! I’m excited. I get to talk to you! Mom gets to do the typing for me. The words are my own!
Today, Mom took me for a ride. I love going for a ride in the truck. I can see so many cool things. I saw two cats fighting and a squirrel running to get out of the way. I wandered where he lives? Last summer I went on an adventure, I chased a squirrel up a tree. I looked and looked and I couldn’t find where he lived. I even called out to him, but he didn’t come out! I love going on adventures. Do you?
I love going for walks, too. Smelling the fresh air and checking out the different smells on the way. Not to forget, the friends I get to meet too! Running with my new friends is the best fun. We love to chase each other and play tag. I can let my imagination go and the adventures and discoveries I have, are wild. What is not cool is having my paws cleaned before going into the house. I have to sit patiently while Mom rubs my paws. It could be worse; she sometimes gives me a bath! When I’m all clean she gives me a treat! That makes it all worth it!
I hope you enjoy my blog! Make today a “fantastic puppy” day!
Remember…discover your world (with Mom or Dad of course!)
